RE: Cell phone in blackwater tank, OOPS!

What you need to do is tilt the trailer over as far you can without it tipping and shake the******out of until it plops out.

RE: Cell phone in blackwater tank, OOPS!

probably can't do this without getting dirty... i saw my hands getting really dirty once when my wife accidently dropped her travel size shampoo in the toilet however it wasnt flushed so all i had to do is get it out of the pee that hadn't been flushed from one of our kids.
I think I would of left the shampoo in the dirtypoo area

It would make a cool gag, wait until a friend uses the "facility" then call you phone, listen them drive themselves nuts. lol

I wonder why they left the scrabble board, what do they have against scrabble? They probably can't spell.

RE: Charging for pets

We have stayed at parks that maintain a fenced in dog run area where you can exercise your pet. In cases like that I do not mind the extra charge.
Don
I agree with this statement, for example, Normandy Farms has an awesome dog park see this link: Dog park
But Lake George RV park has nothing for dogs, but has the land and could have something
I would rather camp at the place with the dog park!

RE: What to do about noisy neighbors

I am a police officer....
Feel free to call the police, they may or may not be able to do something for you, no one should ever be ashamed of calling the police ... ever.
But..... a couple tips for you. Calling the police usually only makes the situation worse. People get really offended when the police are called. If the police do not have enough problem to make arrests then the offenders stay where they are, the police won't, therefore you will still be there and so will the now very upset people. It was your decision to call the police and now you must live with that decision. Police can not evict campers from private property, they can only make arrests.
You can pick up a small gift, and go over and meet in a frinedly way the occupants of the site, spend a couple minutes with them, let them know your a nice person, they are probably nice people and as you leave nicely ask them to quiet down so you can sleep (sometimes you get more bees with honey)
Why are you paying someone to stay at a campground, when you get no services? YOU may want to pack up and leave. if it was this bad and no one was there to help me, I would suck up the $20 I paid for the cheap site and leave, I would not go back to that CG. If this happens enough, maybe management will hire someone to be around or be available for thier guests.
Feel free to call the police, like I said they may or may not be able to help... please don't get mad at the police if they are not able to help
Good luck

RE: Best GPS for under $300?

I love my Garmin 255, very easy to use - it says the names of the streets - ie: instead of saying "turn left 200 feet" it says "turn left on Main Street" - very cool option.

RE: I might of made an oops

the white button is in the city inlet connection for fresh water. You need to take the little screen thing off. Appearently it is a one way valve that allows water to enter the rv water system, but doesn't allow water to come out of the rv when your not using city water

I might of made an oops

When I was finishing the winterization process for the first time, I read on this awesome forum page :B that in order to do the city water I need to take the little screen off and push the button. Well the button was really hard to push .. so I pushed a bit harder and water begun spraying out - yea!!! BUT....
I may have pushed the button in too much. :S It would't stop spraying, I had to shut the pump off and now the little button seems lost inside the city connection... is this normal? how do I get the little button to come back out so in the spring when I pressurize it won't continue squirting out.

RE: double checking my work

Don't forget the blinker fluid needs to be drained. If it freezes over the winter a new blinker manifold will set you back $$$.
You know another thing alot of people forget to do is change the air in the tires, alot of these blowouts are caused by "old" air. :W
I thought something was up with that "blinker fluid" remark ... You got me though, I was like what the heck is that... :S

double checking my work

I just did my first winterization, I am typing what I did in case I missed something, can you guys read this over and give me any advice or things I missed.
I hyave a passport 280BH
1st. I bought the winterizing kit and 3 gallons on pink stuff
2nd. I found that the winterizing kit did not work on my pump, I have quick connects attached to the pump and the tube that led to the tank was to small for the kit.
3) I emptied my fresh water tank and then I dumped all three gallons into my holding tank
4) I pulled the plug for the hot water heater, emptied it and turned on the bypass
5) I turned on the pump and turn all my facets on, kitchen, bathroom, tub, outside shower and toliet utnil pink stuff came out. towards the end the pink stuff was frothy
6) I pulled th lower plug screws (low points) near the city water connection, system was pressurized so the plugs squirted pink stuff - put plugs back on (is there anything else I need to do to city water conennection, should i pull the plugs when it is not pressurized?
7) I will buy another gallon of pink stuff to throw down the drains
I will pulled the batteries and open the grey and black tanks
Should I depressurize the lines?
Any other tips?

RE: Can I drink alcohol in my RV if parked????

Ok, speaking from almost 20 years police experience ....
The DWI (OUI) law is def. state specific.
In my state you will find that the law includes parking lot as a "way" as an "invitee" and you could be charged for OUI in a parking lot.
You must be operating a motor vehicle - the definition of operating is VERY broad - I have heard "stories" of the guy in the back seat. But in an RV you should be fine as long as the keys are not near the ignition. Levelling your RV, or making your RV harder to operate would be a better defense. (think of it, you driving an RV drunk, you see the police so you shut off the RV and run to the back seat ... not good vs. RV has been parked, engine cold, dew on the windows, sitting on blocks - your probably ok) The definition of operating will be in the beholder .. ie: the judgement of the officer... he can be sued if he lets you go, you then drive nad killed someone, he can't be sued if he arrests you in the parking lot. Chances are ... bad for you
NATIONALLY.... you MUST know that RV's are NOT you castles ... RV's are inherently mobile, thus lands in the "automobile exception" and are subject to searches by police WITHOUT warrants .. All police need is "Probable Cause" to search an RV .. Meaning, if the officer thinks that a crime "probably" happened in the RV he can search it immediately and without a warrant ... Far from a "castle"
I'm speaking fast without spell check excuse the mistakes, and please don't referred to my post as "gospil" .. I did not give you a FULL explanations of the laws, I am not a lawyer, nor did I sleep at a "holiday express"
